FCE’s Industrial Risk Analyzer IRA is designed

  • To model a large system of mechanical components as a network of components by using graph theory, nodes and edges, eventually containing cycles,
  • To compute the distribution of the output of produced material in this network as a function of
    • the input streams,
    • and the state variables of the components
  • Solving for the output as a function of the input and the paths through the graph by solving a linear system of equations
  • Wrapping all of the above steps into a Monte-Carlo simulation program thereby generating a large sample of output variables
  • Expressing the sample as a histogram
  • and making probability statements about the production or, on another account, of the loss of production
